GAL-entine's Day

Our men are spoooooiiiilllleeeddd.  They play a lot of golf.  They play a lot of softball.  So, when we were all together for New Year's Eve, the women decided we needed a Girls' Night Out.  Coincidentally, just a week or two later, I saw a Groupon for a Paint Nite event here in Roanoke.  So, we jumped on it!  We looked ahead at our schedules, and came up with the Friday night before Valentine's Day to do dinner and Paint Nite together.

The guys and kiddos met at our house, where I had ordered pizzas, while the girls met downtown at The Quarter for some yummy pre-painting dinner.  Our event was just around the corner at the City Market building, and let me tell you, it was so much fun!  The 7 of us all sat in a row, following the very direct, very literal directions of our Art Instructor to create a fun painting.  Now, I went into it saying that this lovely piece of art would be decorating the 'dog room' in the unfinished area of our basement, so I didn't have high hopes for my artwork, but it turned out to be cute(ish), and is now plopped down in our dining room since the colors make it kind of springy.

Thank you, fellas, for a way-too-much-fun night out.  Can't wait for the next one!
