First Day at Sea {Adriatic: Day 6}

Dressed up for Norwegians Night Out
What a perfect day for a restful, relaxing day at sea.  Of course, we thought the best thing would be to get up bright and early, and we almost did.  Well, not really.  I mean, kinda. There was still an a.m. after the number.  Barely.  :)

One of the reasons that we chose to take this trip in June is to be able to take advantage of the idyllic weather here during that month.  It is on the front end of tourist season, but isn't as busy as July, and it was so nice being able to take advantage of that on our day at sea.  The forecast had listed a high of 71 degrees, but it ended up being around 75 degrees and crystal calm seas.  Perfect weather for lounging by the pool.

Traditionally with cruises, the days at sea are the "formal nights," and though Norwegian doesn't require formal dress, they say "wear your favorite outfit" and try to fancy up the evening with a Captain's Dinner and a Norwegians Night Out shipwide festival feel.  It kind of feels like prom for grown ups.  And my date was so, so handsome!  One of our favorite parts of vacationing together is getting to "dress up" a bit.  As great as Roanoke is, a lot of our daily life is pretty casual.  I'm not doing hair and make up with a dressy outfit on our swing through Applebee's after a softball game, y'know?  How much it blesses our marriage to be able date each other here.  To meet up in the Atrium after alternating turns to get ready, and hear your husband saw, "Wow."

We loved actually getting to eat at one of the main dining rooms last night (instead of the snack bar on our first night onboard), so we decided to try the other one for our dinner.  Maybe we were a little too excited about this one, since we somehow ordered three desserts.  Oops.  It was our first time in this dining room, and my goodness did it bring back memories from our honeymoon.  We sat in this very dining room while cruising in Hawai'i, and have our picture with this very statue of King Ka'anapali.  I can't wait to get home and dig up that film picture of some newlywed babies on that cruise.  Boy, that makes this nearly nine years of marriage feel like a long time.  :)

Loving my view tonight.  Both of 'em.

It's been a wonderful trip so far!  Check out what else we've done here.
